George Hihn - League Founder/Creator
🔸 Bio: George Hihn, 10 years of experience coaching youth sports, George is deeply rooted in the Rocky River Community. His unwavering commitment to fostering baseball cohesiveness in Rocky River is truly commendable. When George's not on the field, you can find him tirelessly working behind the scenes to secure sponsorship deals that will benefit our league, players, and families. He's the force behind our financial support system and ensures that our league has the resources needed to thrive.
Sam Hihn - Player Representative, 1st overall Fall Ball Draft Pick & Team Name Creation Support.
🔸 Bio: Sam Hihn is a rising star in the world of baseball. At just 11 years old, he possesses a fierce passion for the game and a natural talent that sets him apart on the field. Born and raised in Rocky River, Sam grew up with a bat in his hand and dreams of playing in The Show!
Sam's journey in baseball began when he was just a toddler, swinging a plastic bat in the backyard with his dad. Since then, he's dedicated countless hours to honing his skills, from practicing his swing to perfecting his pitch. His determination and work ethic have earned him the respect of coaches, teammates, and opponents alike. Sam help to create all the team names and colors for the new league!
Mike Harper - Director of Equipment and Uniforms
🔸 Bio: Mike Harper, a seasoned baseball coach, is the guardian of all things equipment and uniforms. He's no stranger to the game, having served on the varsity coaching staff for the prestigious Rocky River High School Team. Before he joined our ranks, Mike played a pivotal role in managing the Elyria High School Program. With a sharp eye for detail and a passion for outfitting our players in style, Mike ensures that our teams look and feel like champions on the field. Your favorite team jerseys and gear? That's all thanks to Mike's hard work!
Mike Klidas - Director of Game Day Operations
🔸 Bio: Mike Klidas, an experienced youth sports coach, and most recently a coach in the RRLL for the Majors, as our Director of Game Day Operations. With a wealth of experience in the Rocky River Little League, Mike is the one who will be ensuring that our game days run like clockwork. From setting up the fields to managing the game schedule, Mike is your go-to guy to make sure that everything runs smoothly on and off the field. His passion for baseball and his deep knowledge of our league make him an invaluable addition to our team.
Together, George, Mike Harper, and Mike Klidas, along with the rest of our dedicated team, are working tirelessly to create a Fall baseball league experience that is unforgettable for our players, families, and fans. The purpose of the River Fall Baseball League is to provide organized baseball activities for the youth of the Rocky River Community during the late summer and early Fall season, fostering sportsmanship, teamwork, and skill development in a safe and inclusive environment.
The League is operated by the Rocky River Recreation Dept., in Rocky River, Ohio
Eligibility in the League shall be open to all youth residents of Rocky River interested in playing baseball, without regard to skill level, race, color, religion, gender, or national origin.
River Fall Ball will model rules and regulations from the Cal Ripken Youth Baseball Program with the modifications listed below.
